Lucknow: Laughter and creativity filled Valmiki Park in Takrohi as a unique theatre workshop brought out the hidden talents of children through imaginative storytelling and performance. Organised under the ‘Chabutra Theatre Pathshala’ initiative by Mother Seva Sansthan, the workshop aimed to nurture personality development through art and acting.
The session was conducted by noted film actor and the organisation’s secretary, Mahesh Chandra Deva, who introduced children to the basics of theatre in a fun and engaging way. Participants were divided into “fruit” and “vegetable” groups and encouraged to enact creative skits, helping them understand character-building, dialogue delivery, and stage presence.
Through interactive games and activities, children learned essential elements of performance such as expressions, voice modulation, and effective use of stage space. The playful format ensured that learning remained enjoyable while instilling important life skills.
Addressing the participants, Mahesh Chandra Deva emphasized the role of art in building confidence. He said the initiative seeks to bring forward hidden talent from local neighbourhoods, adding that theatre is not just a form of entertainment but also a powerful medium to enhance concentration and self-belief. He noted that when children portray simple characters like fruits and vegetables, they also develop a deeper connection with society and nature.

Social worker Rajesh Pujari attended the event as a special guest and encouraged the children, highlighting that such grassroots initiatives play a crucial role in nurturing young talent.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from several children, including Manish, Sarvesh, Atharva, Aarav, Shivi, Mahi, Pihu, Shaurya, Sona, Divyanshi, Manya, Aaradhya, Kanak, Yash, Abhi, and Ankur. Their lively performances as fruits and vegetables captivated the audience and showcased their budding acting skills.
The event successfully combined learning with creativity, leaving young participants more confident and inspired, while reinforcing the importance of arts in holistic development.
