Little Yogis Unite for the 2024 CISCE Regional Yoga Championship

“Yoga means a poise of the soul which enables one to look at life in all its aspects evenly.” – Sri Aurobindo

Lucknow: Seth M.R. Jaipuria, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow, hosted the two-day CISCE Regional (UP/UK) Yoga Competition 2024, where students from 11 zones—Prayagraj, Ghaziabad, Jhansi, Kanpur North, Kanpur South, Lucknow Zone A, Lucknow Zone B, Meerut, Uttarakhand, Agra and Varanasi—came together under one roof. The event began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful Ganesh Vandana performance, culminating in a musical performance.

Later,  chief guest for the event, Swami Taponidhi Ji, a renowned yogic teacher, addressed the audience. He began with a meditation session, during which everyone chanted ‘Om.’ In his speech, he spoke about how we often let the thoughts in our minds take over all aspects of our being. He explained how yoga is a way to harness the mind and train it to reach higher dimensions, guiding the brain rather than the other way around. He further elaborated, “Yoga possesses the transformative power to alter your perspective and perception of life.”

Principal,  Promini Chopra, in her speech, expressed gratitude to Swami Taponidhi Ji for gracing us with his presence. She further emphasized and encouraged students to not limit the practice of yoga to their physical being. Instead, after gaining control over their physical being, they must work further to enhance their emotional being, which will, in turn, raise their consciousness and perfect their spiritual being.

After that, . Bishwanath briefed the participants about the rules of the competition, officially starting the event.

Over 300 students competed in three categories: U14, U17, and U19. In rhythmic yoga, students showcased yoga poses set to music, gracefully synchronizing their movements with the rhythm.

In group yoga, ensembles of students performed yoga poses in perfect sync, demonstrating teamwork, coordination, and collaboration.

In artistic yoga, students performed intricate and creative yoga poses with great elegance and precision, turning their routines into a visual spectacle.

From complex poses to synchronized movements, each performance was a testament to the dedication and hard work invested by both the students and their mentors.

The competition was judged by Rakhi, Acharya Vipin Pathik, Ruby Srivastava, Gunjan, Janmejaya, Diksha Gupta, Vinay Kumar Shrivastava, Abhishek Kumar, Aradhana, Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Pushpa Rawat, Virendra Singh, Durgesh Kumar, Harsh Gupta, Rahul Yaduvanshi,  Seema Singh, and Akanchha Singh.

Seth M.R. Jaipuria is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of not only the students but also the teachers. In alignment with this commitment, two exclusive sessions on teacher well-being were conducted by Swami Taponidhi Ji. During these enlightening sessions, Swami Taponidhi Ji introduced the educators of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School to a range of advanced yogic practices. By integrating these techniques into their daily routines, teachers can cultivate healthier and more balanced lives, ultimately enriching the entire school community.

Swami Taponidhi, a visionary yogi, shared his transformative life experiences, including how he significantly reduced his glasses power within just one year using simple yoga practices. He revealed his well-kept yoga secrets to our teachers and engaged in a Q&A session, thoughtfully addressing their questions and providing insightful guidance.
