Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Animal Husbandry and Dairy Development Minister Dharampal Singh said that the work of protection of destitute cows in flood-affected districts should be ensured on priority. Proper arrangements of cow shelters should be made to save cows from flood-affected areas. The dead bodies of cows in cow shelters should be disposed of immediately so that no infection spreads to other cows. He said that vaccination work should be given priority to protect cows from diseases and its information should be uploaded on the portal. Strict action will be taken against the officers of districts with less progress in vaccination.
Dharampal Singh was giving instructions to the officers in a meeting held in his office room in Vidhan Bhavan for proper arrangements of cow shelters to transport destitute cows to cow shelters and to protect them from rain. He said that protection sites should be constructed on priority in districts with minimum protection of cows. Tree plantation work should be done in all cow shelters. Grazing land should be freed from encroachment and work should be done to grow fodder for cows on the land. Also, strict instructions were given to sow green fodder on 20 thousand hectares of grazing land free from encroachment by 15th August.
In the meeting, Principal Secretary Ravindra assured the Minister that all the guidelines given by the Minister will be fully followed. Strict instructions have been given to the officers to complete the work of vaccination of cows as soon as possible. He told that the work of saving cows in flood affected areas is going on on a war footing and adequate arrangements are being made for fodder, straw, medicines etc. Strict action will be taken against the officers who are negligent in their work. Necessary arrangements are being ensured by the officers of all the districts for the safety of livestock in view of the rainy season.
Special Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department Devendra Pandey, Director, Administration and Development of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Raghunath Singh, Director Disease Control Field Dr. P.N. Singh, Additional Director Dr. Jaykesh Kumar Pandey and Additional Director Dr. Arvind Kumar Singh and senior officers of the government were present in the meeting.
