Rahul Gandhi takes stock of situation in Manipur

Imphal: MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi met Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Monday. State Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi and Security Advisor Kuldeep Singh were present during this meeting. Congress leaders Okram Ibobi Singh, Kesham Meghchandra and Gaikhangam were also present with Rahul Gandhi in this meeting.

Visited relief camp and interacted with people

It is known that during his visit today, Rahul Gandhi visited relief camps at Phubala in Moirang and Jiribam Higher Secondary School in Tuibong village of Churachandpur district. During the visit, he interacted with people living in camps affected by ethnic violence. During this, he also met flood-affected people in Imphal.

BJP expressed objection to Rahul’s visit

It is worth noting that this morning Rahul Gandhi landed at Kumbhirgram Airport in Silchar by a special plane from New Delhi. From there Rahul Gandhi reached Jiribam in Manipur by road. On the way, he visited the flood relief camp at Lakhipur Phulratal in Cachar district. Rahul Gandhi reached Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal by a special flight from Jiribam.

Raising questions on Rahul Gandhi’s Manipur visit, the Bharatiya Janata Party said that Rahul Gandhi has been doing politics on the situation in Manipur since the beginning. The BJP alleged that seriousness cannot be expected from Rahul Gandhi.
