Ayodhya: Amid the dazzling celebrations of Ayodhya Deepotsav 2026, a heartwarming initiative is ensuring that physical limitations do not come in the way of faith. Wheelchair assistance for elderly and differently-abled devotees is making visits to the Ram Temple, Hanumangarhi and other prominent shrines easier and more accessible.
For many devotees who find it difficult to walk long distances, the facility has become a valuable support, enabling them to participate in the festivities, attend religious ceremonies and seek blessings from Ram Lalla.
Deshraj, a resident of Bahraich, is among those helping devotees reach temples using wheelchairs. He says many elderly and differently-abled pilgrims travel to Ayodhya with the desire to have darshan of Lord Ram but struggle with physical challenges. Helping them reach the temple and witnessing their happiness makes the effort deeply rewarding, he says.
Satish Kumar, also from Bahraich, is extending similar assistance. He points out that several elderly visitors are unable to cover long distances on foot, making wheelchair support particularly beneficial.
Jagram Chauhan, a resident of Manikapur Khurd in Shravasti, is also helping pilgrims access the temples comfortably.

Their efforts are allowing devotees with mobility challenges to experience the spiritual atmosphere of Ayodhya and participate in the Deepotsav celebrations.
Amid the grandeur of the festival, the initiative highlights the importance of compassion, accessibility and inclusive participation. It reinforces the message that devotion should never be restricted by physical limitations and that every pilgrim deserves an opportunity to experience the spiritual significance of Ramnagari.
The wheelchair assistance has thus emerged as a meaningful example of service and humanity, ensuring that the celebrations reach even those whose steps may need support but whose faith remains unwavering.
