Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU) organised a Think-Tank Round Table Workshop titled “Insights from Legends: Innovation, Sustainability & Reimagining Happiness” to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable development among students and research scholars.
The workshop was jointly organised by the university’s Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), an initiative of the Ministry of Education, and the Consultancy Cell under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Professor Anil Kumar Rai. The event was held at the Corporate Conference Hall in the RIF Building on the university campus.

Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Forest, Environment and Climate Change Arun Kumar Saxena attended the programme as the chief guest. Shrimati Shruti Gangwar, Member of Parliament, and Ghanshyam Khandelwal, a prominent industrialist from Bareilly, were the guests of honour. Professor (Dr.) Ritu Narang, Head of the Department of Management at the University of Lucknow, participated as the keynote speaker.
Professor Sanjay Mishra, PM-USHA Coordinator, served as the programme’s patron. Faculty members Dr Saurabh Verma and Dr Karuna were also present.
The workshop aimed to connect academic learning with industry experience and encourage students to become entrepreneurs and job creators rather than merely job seekers. Participants had the opportunity to engage with experienced professionals, exchange ideas and explore practical approaches to addressing contemporary social and environmental challenges.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Anil Kumar Rai emphasised that the university’s objective extended beyond awarding degrees to developing thinkers and innovators capable of finding solutions to societal problems. He observed that meaningful happiness comes from using knowledge and innovation to bring positive change to society and the environment.

The event also featured the release of the book Managing For Belongings, authored by Professor (Dr.) Tulika Saxena and Vaishali Vishwakarma. The publication added an academic dimension to the workshop, contributing to discussions on management and the sharing of knowledge.
Professor (Dr.) Tulika Saxena served as the programme director, with Professor Yatindra Kumar as convener and Dr Ruchi Dwivedi as co-convener. Vaishali Vishwakarma, Shubhi Agrawal and Robin Kumar coordinated the event, while Manisha Singh, Garima Gangwar, Dharmveer Singh, Tejendra Kumar and Pushpendra Katheria served as co-coordinators.
The workshop provided students, research scholars and startup representatives with a platform to explore innovative ideas, understand industry perspectives and consider entrepreneurship and sustainability as drivers of social progress.
