Lucknow: The Prison Minister of the state, Darasingh Chauhan inaugurated the felicitation and training session of the newly appointed Deputy Jailors at the Prison Headquarters, Lucknow. He congratulated all the newly appointed Deputy Jailors and wished them a bright future. He said that Deputy Jailors are the backbone of the prison and this post is very important. Out of the 75 newly selected Deputy Jailors of the state of Uttar Pradesh, 25 are women, out of which 33 Deputy Jailors gave joining and 11 of them are women.
Giving information about the educational background of the selected Deputy Jailors, Principal Secretary Prison Rajesh Kumar Singh said that out of 33 Deputy Jailors, 12 are B.Tech, 1 M.Tech, 4 B.A., 4 M.A., 10 B.Sc. and 2 M.Sc. He informed that basic training programmes for officers and jail wardens are regularly organised at Dr. Sampurnanand Institute. The resources available for training at the institute include administrative building, lecture hall, gymnasium, library, hospital, guest house, indoor sports complex, auditorium, officers hostel, wardens hostel, women hostel, residential complex, computer lab and parade ground.
On this occasion, Director General of Police Prisons P.V. Ramasastri, other officers of Prison Headquarters, officers and employees of Training Institute and newly appointed Deputy Jailers were present.
