Lucknow: Students and teachers of Seth M.R. Jaipuria School, Goel Campus, Lucknow, organised a cleanliness drive and awareness rally in Safedabad on Friday to mark the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
Held under the guidance of school Chairman Mahesh Goel and Principal Dr Reena Pathak, the initiative aimed to highlight the importance of cleanliness and environmental conservation and reinforce the message of “Swachh Bharat, Harit Bharat.”
Students actively participated in the cleanliness campaign and interacted with local residents, encouraging them to keep their surroundings clean and adopt greater responsibility towards the environment. They also highlighted how small, sustainable changes in everyday life can contribute to cleaner surroundings and environmental protection.
Adding a creative element to the campaign, some students dressed as Mahatma Gandhi and presented his thoughts and messages on cleanliness and social responsibility. Quoting Gandhi’s message, “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” they urged people to initiate positive change at an individual level.
The school emphasised that cleanliness should not remain a one-day activity but should become a daily responsibility. Through the initiative, students sought to promote awareness about cleanliness, environmental conservation and civic responsibility, with the message: “Swachh Bharat–Harit Bharat, Our Pledge, Our Responsibility.”
