Gonda: A Teacher Felicitation Ceremony was organised by the Teachers’ Association of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Degree College on the occasion of Teachers’ Day at the Lalita Auditorium of the college. The event honoured retired teachers, welcomed newly appointed faculty members and acknowledged a teacher who is leaving the institution following a transfer.
Presiding over the ceremony, Acting Principal Professor Jitendra Singh said that teachers are the architects who shape the future of the nation. He said teachers do much more than teach from the pages of textbooks; they impart the art of living and play a vital role in preparing the country’s future generations.
Retired faculty members Professor B.P. Singh, Professor Shiv Sharan Shukla, Professor Rajiv Agrawal, Professor R.B.S. Baghel, Professor Shailendra Nath Mishra and Professor J.B. Pal were felicitated during the programme. Newly appointed teachers Professor Arvind Kumar Sharma, Dr Mala Singh and Dr Sunil Kumar Tiwari were also warmly welcomed.
Dr Achyut Shukla, who is leaving the college following his transfer, was also honoured. The faculty members were welcomed with garlands and presented with diaries, pens and traditional angavastram as tokens of appreciation. The Teachers’ Association additionally conferred the “Shastri Shri Samman” on the retired teachers in recognition of their contribution to the institution and education.
Teachers’ Association President Dr Pawan Kumar Singh outlined the objectives of the programme and welcomed all the faculty members. He said teachers guide society from darkness towards the light of knowledge and play an indispensable role in shaping individuals and communities.
The programme was effectively conducted by Dr Parvez Alam. Teachers’ Association Secretary Dr Awadhesh Verma, Vice-President Dr Santosh Kumar Srivastava, Joint Secretary Vivek Pratap Singh, Treasurer Dr Vandana Bharti and members Professor Shashi Bala, Manish Sharma and Manish Modanwal made significant contributions to the successful organisation of the event.
Former Chief Proctor Professor Aman Chandra, Chief Proctor Professor Sandeep Kumar Srivastava, Professor Abhay Srivastava, Professor Mansaram Verma, Professor Srinivasa Rao, Professor Jai Shankar Tiwari, Dr Neeraj Yadav, Dr Chaman Kaur and several other faculty members were present on the occasion.
