Rohilkhand University Organises Awareness Programme Marking 12 Years of Good Governance and Development

Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, organised a special awareness and interactive programme on Monday to commemorate 12 years of governance, public service, welfare initiatives, and development undertaken by the Government of India.

Held at the university campus at 9:30 a.m., the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, officers, and staff. The programme aimed to highlight major transformations and achievements in areas such as public welfare, infrastructure development, digital governance, healthcare expansion, financial inclusion, women’s empowerment, social security, and technology-driven service delivery between 2014 and 2026.

Speakers at the event provided detailed insights into various government initiatives and reforms designed to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society. Discussions focused on key national programmes and their impact on citizens across the country.

Addressing the gathering as keynote speakers, Dr. Sumit Srivastava, Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Dr. Amit Kumar Verma, Assistant Dean of Student Welfare (ADSW), shared their perspectives on the progress achieved through initiatives such as Digital India, the Jan Dhan Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, the Swachh Bharat Mission, women’s empowerment programmes, the startup and innovation ecosystem, and social security schemes.

The programme also featured an interactive session in which students actively participated by raising questions related to government schemes, their implementation, impact, and future prospects. The speakers responded to the queries, transforming the event into a meaningful and informative dialogue. Participants also exchanged views on the growing role of technology and transparency in governance.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Vinay Rishiwal, Dean of Student Welfare and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, said that India has witnessed remarkable progress in digital empowerment, public service delivery, and welfare initiatives over the past 12 years.

He emphasized that the youth are among the most important stakeholders in the nation’s development journey and should remain informed about government schemes, technological innovations, and their social responsibilities. He urged students not only to benefit from various programmes but also to serve as ambassadors of awareness within society.

“Such interactive programmes are an effective medium to connect students with the process of nation-building and encourage informed participation in the country’s development,” Prof. Rishiwal said.

Approximately 100 participants attended the event, including students, faculty members, administrative officers, and university staff. Among those present were Prof. Vinay Rishiwal, Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh, Dr. Ashutosh, Dr. Shivangi, Dr. Prabhat, Dr. Vinay Maurya, along with faculty and staff members from various departments.

At the conclusion of the programme, participants appreciated the initiative and noted that such awareness and dialogue-based events provide valuable opportunities for students to better understand contemporary issues, governance reforms, and the ongoing efforts contributing to national development.
