Lucknow: The South Unit of Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Parishad, Lucknow, organised a seminar on the theme “Sangh Sahitya: Samagra Chintan Pravah” in the city, bringing together scholars, students and literary enthusiasts for discussions on the role of literature in nation-building and social awareness.
The programme was conducted by Jahnavi Awasthi, while speakers shared their perspectives on how Sangh literature contributes to national development, cultural consciousness and social awakening by reflecting themes of patriotism and collective responsibility.
The event began with an invocation to Goddess Saraswati by Dr Medha Agrawal. A musical rendition of “Bharti Ki Lokmangal Sadhana Sakar Ho” was presented by Snigdha Mishra.
During the seminar, Dr Kumud Pandey spoke about the social philosophies of B R Ambedkar along with the contributions of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule towards equality and social reform. She emphasised that women play a crucial role not only in family life but also in nation-building through character development and education.
Jyoti Kiran Ratan described Sangh literature as a source of inspiration that helps preserve India’s cultural heritage and strengthens unity across regions. She encouraged greater engagement with regional literature, languages and timeless works such as Ramcharitmanas.

Student speaker Muskan Singh highlighted the ideology, objectives and history of Sangh literature, referring to the popular patriotic song “Man Mast Fakiri Dhari Hai, Ab Ek Hi Dhun Jai-Jai Bharat” to underline its nationalist spirit.
Anjali Mishra said literature should illuminate truth, goodness and beauty while nurturing social sensitivity and character building. She noted that Sangh literature encourages individuals to rise above self-interest and connect with societal realities.
Unit president Neetu Sharma said the centenary year of the Sangh offers an opportunity to reconnect the younger generation with the literary contributions of great thinkers. Referring to the ideas of Deendayal Upadhyaya and his work Rashtra Chintan, she stressed the importance of implementing the philosophy of Antyodaya, which focuses on the upliftment of the last person in society.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr Kumud Pandey. Several participants, including Sneha Singh, Deeptshikha Rai, Kusum Lata, Misha Ratan, Isha Ratan and Rajveer Ratan, were also present at the event.
