Lucknow: Under the “Mission Shakti 5.0” initiative, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate conducted a special awareness campaign focused on women’s and child safety in the slum area near Ram-Ram Bank Engineering Chowraha, under Madiyanw Police Station. The program aims to educate women and girls about personal safety, their rights, and measures to protect themselves from potential threats.
The campaign was organized by Sub-Inspector Arju Prajapati and Sub-Inspector Ankita Rai, with active participation from officers including Sub-Inspector Divya Shukla, Sub-Inspector Sandhya Bharti, and Constable Ravish Yadav. Women and girls from the local community actively participated in the outreach activities.
Key Highlights of the Program:
- Awareness on Women’s Safety Centers: Officers briefed participants on the Mission Shakti Centers and Women Help Desks established at police stations for immediate assistance.
- Government Schemes for Women and Children: Participants were informed about welfare programs designed to empower and protect women and girls.
- Personal Safety Education: Girls were educated on the concept of “Good Touch & Bad Touch” to ensure awareness of personal boundaries.
- Emergency Helpline Numbers: Pamphlets with crucial helpline numbers were distributed, including: Chief Minister Helpline (1076), Police Assistance (112), Ambulance (108), Child Helpline (1098), Women Helpline (181), Women Power Helpline (1090), and Cyber Helpline (1930).
- Cyber Safety Awareness: Participants were guided on how to avoid cyber fraud and remain vigilant online.
The initiative reflects Lucknow Police’s commitment to creating a safe and empowered environment for women and children, ensuring they can live without fear. Through Mission Shakti 5.0, the police continue to strengthen safety measures and awareness programs across the city, providing a secure platform for childhood development and women’s empowerment.
