Three Arrested for Murder of 22-Year-Old in Lucknow; Weapon Recovered

Lucknow: Police from Dubagga Police Station in Lucknow have arrested three accused in connection with the murder of a 22-year-old youth and sent them to judicial custody, officials said on Thursday.

According to police, the case was registered on March 4 after the victim’s father filed a written complaint alleging that the accused had stabbed his son, Suraj Gautam (22), to death with a knife. Based on the complaint, a case (No. 77/2026) was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

The accused have been identified as Siddhant Kumar Tiwari alias Mohit Tiwari (28), Ranjana (55), and Shipra Tiwari alias Shivani Tiwari (24), all residents of Begaria village under the Dubagga police station area.

Acting on a tip-off, the police team apprehended the three suspects near the Baznagar underpass on Hardoi Road on March 5. During the operation, police also recovered the knife allegedly used in the murder, which was found stained with blood.

The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kakori. Further legal proceedings in the case are underway.
