“Ghat Rahi Hai Roz Meri Chehergi” Launched at Grand Literary Evening in Lucknow

Lucknow: The book launch of “Ghat Rahi Hai Roz Meri Chehergi” by noted poet and author Chandrashekhar Verma was held with great enthusiasm on Wednesday evening at the auditorium of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Vineet Khand, Gomti Nagar. The literary gathering brought together eminent poets, writers, critics, and lovers of Hindi-Urdu poetry for a memorable celebration of words and music.

The programme commenced at 6:00 pm with a formal inauguration and introduction of the book. The collection, whose title translates to “My Identity is Diminishing Each Day,” reflects deep introspection on identity, social transformation, emotional vulnerability, and the evolving human condition. Through his ghazals and poems, Chandrashekhar Verma explores themes of existential reflection, relationships, and the subtle erosion of individuality in modern times.

A special highlight of the evening was the soulful musical rendition of the author’s ghazals by Mumbai-based singer Vivek Prakash, whose performance added a melodious dimension to the literary atmosphere. His presentation received warm appreciation from the audience, blending poetry with evocative musical expression.

The event was presided over by senior poet and academician Uday Pratap Singh, who lauded the depth and contemporary relevance of the book. Celebrated Urdu poet Farhat Ehsaas graced the occasion as Chief Guest and spoke about the importance of preserving poetic traditions while addressing present-day realities.

Distinguished poets and literary personalities including Manish Shukla, Sarvesh Asthana, Ajhar Iqbal, and Neeraj Srivastava participated in the poetic symposium that followed the launch. They shared their reflections on the book and presented select compositions, turning the evening into a vibrant kavi sammelan-style gathering.

Speakers praised Chandrashekhar Verma’s distinctive voice and his ability to articulate subtle emotional shifts through simple yet powerful language. The cover design of the book, symbolically depicting the gradual fading of identity, was also appreciated for complementing the thematic core of the collection.

The auditorium witnessed a strong turnout of literature enthusiasts, students, academicians, and members of the city’s cultural fraternity. The evening concluded with a vote of thanks and an interactive session where readers engaged with the author about his creative process and inspirations.

The successful launch marked yet another significant addition to Lucknow’s thriving literary calendar, reaffirming the city’s enduring reputation as a vibrant centre of poetry and intellectual discourse.
