Lucknow: Amity School of Fine Arts, Amity University Lucknow Campus, organised a three-day National Art Exhibition titled “Kala Darpan 2026”, bringing together emerging and established artists from across India to present a diverse showcase of contemporary art practices.
The exhibition features a wide range of creative expressions reflecting innovation, experimentation and a multidisciplinary approach across various visual art forms. The initiative aims to highlight current artistic trends while encouraging young artists to critically engage with evolving practices and contribute to the continuing legacy of Indian art.

The exhibition was inaugurated at the Amity University Art Gallery by Dr Garun Mishra, Dean, Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Uttar Pradesh, in the presence of Prof (Dr) Anil Vashisht, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus, and Prof (Dr) Pooja Verma, Director, Amity School of Fine Arts and Fashion Technology, Lucknow.
This year’s edition received more than 150 artworks from 70 participants, comprising both professional artists and students. Entries were received from several states including Delhi, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chandigarh and Uttar Pradesh. Participating institutions included Government College of Arts and Crafts, Kolkata; Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi; BITS Pilani; Dr Shakuntala Mishra Rehabilitation University, Lucknow; Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad; and Babu Banarasi Das University, along with contributions from amateur, freelance and self-taught artists.

The artworks were displayed under categories such as drawing, painting, photography and digital art. In the digital art category, Sulekha Pandey secured first position, followed by Suman Tiwari in second place and Satish Kumar in third, while Prem Kumar received the consolation award. In the painting category, Samiksha Awasthi won the first prize, Payal Verma secured second position, Payal Tripathi stood third, and Rachana Singh received the consolation award. In the photography category, Jitendra Singh bagged the first prize, followed by Amit Kumar and Dharmendra, while Mosaddiq Razza received the consolation award.
The exhibition is being coordinated by Dr Angad Verma, Assistant Professor, Amity School of Fine Arts, and will remain open to visitors until February 3, 2026.
