When Love Turns Controlling: Anvita Finds Strength After Sanjay’s Violence in Sony SAB’s Itti Si Khushi

Mumbai: Sony SAB’s Itti Si Khushi continues to strike an emotional chord with viewers through the powerful journey of Anvita (played by Sumbul Touqeer Khan), a selfless young woman who has stepped into the role of a parent for her younger siblings. From supporting her family through life’s toughest challenges to navigating love, marriage, and emotional conflict, Anvita has always placed her siblings’ well-being above everything else.

As she attempts to build a new life with her husband Sanjay (Rishi Saxena), unresolved emotions linked to her past with Virat (Rajat Verma) resurface, testing her resilience in unexpected ways. The narrative takes a darker turn when advocate Leena makes an unannounced visit to assess whether Anvita’s siblings are living in a safe and stable environment. Sensing that the situation could turn against him, Sanjay subtly reminds Anvita that the custody of her siblings depends entirely on him, discouraging her from even thinking about leaving.

Soon after, Anvita begins to feel uneasy as Sanjay repeatedly calls her, demanding minute-by-minute updates. Determined to uncover the truth, she seeks help from Diya (Meghna Kukreja) and Virat, only to discover a shocking reality: Sanjay has set up a surveillance room, monitoring every corner of both the Bhosale and Divekar homes, as well as the café, through live footage.

When Anvita confronts him, the situation escalates into violence, with Sanjay slapping her. This moment becomes a turning point in Anvita’s life. Choosing self-respect over fear, she leaves Sanjay’s house and returns to the Divekar home, standing firm against control and abuse.

The track raises a critical question: Is this truly the end of Sanjay and Anvita’s relationship, or will Sanjay once again attempt to manipulate her by using her siblings’ custody as leverage?

Speaking about the intense storyline, Sumbul Touqeer Khan shared, “Anvita has always believed in keeping her family together, but this moment breaks something deep inside her. Being slapped is not just physical pain—it shatters trust and respect. Walking away is her way of choosing self-worth, even if it means risking everything she loves. Portraying these emotions on screen was incredibly challenging, yet deeply empowering for me as an actor.”

Itti Si Khushi airs every Monday to Saturday at 9 PM, exclusively on Sony SAB, continuing to explore themes of love, control, courage, and self-respect with sensitivity and depth.
