Deepotsav 2025 to Showcase Ayodhya’s Development, Cultural Splendor

Ayodhya, India : Ayodhya, the land of faith and devotion, is set to shine brighter than ever during the 9th edition of Deepotsav 2025, reflecting both spiritual heritage and modern development. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the city has undergone a series of grand projects aimed at transforming it into a global pilgrimage and tourism hub. Key initiatives include the beautification of Ram Ki Paidi, redevelopment of the Sarayu ghats, and enhancement of tourist facilities, blending tradition with modernity.

Ram Ki Paidi: A Spectacle of Devotion and Grandeur
For Deepotsav attendees, seating arrangements along Ram Ki Paidi have been upgraded, offering comfort and accessibility for up to 20,000 devotees at a time. The 350-meter-long stepped ghat and spectator gallery, constructed at a cost of ₹23.25 crore in 2023–24, feature a selfie point with majestic stone idols of Lord Ram, Sita, and Laxman. Modern lighting, boundary walls, and visitor amenities have elevated the ghat to world-class standards.

A new project approved for 2024–25, costing ₹23.68 crore, will further enhance Ram Ki Paidi with eight mini amphitheaters, six stone chhatris, eight grand lamps, and seven-meter-tall stone pillars. Together with advanced lighting and landscaping, these additions promise an extraordinary blend of heritage and modernity, offering devotees a memorable spiritual experience.

Sarayu Ghats: A Hub of Devotion and Tourism
The Sarayu riverfront, extending over 2.5 kilometers, is also being redeveloped at a cost of ₹23.46 crore. The project includes 32 stone chhatris, 11 grand pillars, four puja sites, two cow-worship pavilions, 15 directional markers, 60 interpretation walls, and a VIP pavilion. Modern lighting and improved cleanliness will make the ghats a new center for spiritual tourism, enhancing the grandeur of the Sarayu aarti.

Development as a Symbol of Cultural Renaissance
UPPCL Project Manager Manoj Sharma highlighted that these initiatives go beyond construction, representing a cultural renaissance. “The beautification of Ram Ki Paidi and Sarayu ghats not only enriches the religious environment but also gives a new direction to tourism. Our aim is to complete all projects ahead of schedule with top quality so that visitors can experience Ayodhya’s divine splendor,” he said.

Ayodhya Emerging as the World’s Spiritual Capital
District Magistrate Nikhil Tikaram emphasized that these projects have elevated Ayodhya to global prominence. “The beautification initiatives preserve our cultural heritage while providing devotees with a safe and pleasant environment. These developments have strengthened Ayodhya’s global identity and boosted the local economy and tourism,” he added.

Deepotsav 2025 promises a spectacular display of lights, culture, and development, reflecting the vision of the Yogi government and positioning Ayodhya as a spiritual and cultural destination of worldwide significance.
