BSP Mobilizes Full Strength for ‘Mahasankalp Rally’; 500,000 Workers to Converge in Lucknow

Lucknow — The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is leaving no stone unturned ahead of its flagship “Mahasankalp Rally” in Lucknow, scheduled to mark the death anniversary of party founder Kanshiram. With the Bihar elections announced and Uttar Pradesh’s 2027 Assembly polls approaching, the rally is being seen as a show of political strength for the BSP.

The site of the rally, Ramabai Ambedkar Maidan, which houses the Shri Kanshiram Memorial, is historically significant. In 2007, BSP staged a similar rally here, propelling Mayawati to become Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister with a full majority. Now, questions loom: can BSP replicate that success?

Preparations are in full swing as approximately 5 lakh party workers are expected to descend on Lucknow. Party units from every district are sending contingents of 5,000 each, while volunteers across the state are promoting the “9 October, Chalo Lucknow” campaign to rally support.

Grand Arrangements Underway
A stage has been set up near the main dome of the memorial, with LDA and memorial committee officials inspecting preparations. Security measures, parking, and accommodation arrangements for workers have been meticulously planned. Around 1,000 volunteers have been deployed to manage the event seamlessly.

Cultural Programs on Eve of Rally
On the night of October 8, cultural programs will entertain attendees, featuring folk artists, singers, and performances highlighting the upliftment of Dalits and social reform. BSP flags, banners, and posters adorn the area, while large hoardings line the city streets, creating a festive and political atmosphere.

Senior Leaders to Lead the Rally
The event will see the presence of BSP supremo Mayawati, National Coordinator Akash Anand, and other senior leaders. Party figures including Satish Mishra, Vishwanath Pal, Ramautar Mittal, Munkad Ali, and Shirish Jatav are actively overseeing preparations, underscoring the rally’s importance as a prelude to the upcoming state elections.

The Mahasankalp Rally is widely regarded as a key political exercise, signaling BSP’s intent to consolidate its base and make a strong push in Uttar Pradesh’s electoral landscape.
