Hemlata Sharma’s New Book ‘Kritiyon Ki Bhoomi’ Launched in Lucknow

Lucknow — The grand launch of senior critic, scholar, and litterateur Hemlata Sharma’s latest work, ‘Kritiyon Ki Bhoomi’, took place at the Nirala Auditorium of Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan. The event saw a distinguished gathering from the fields of literature, judiciary, and administration.

The launch ceremony was inaugurated jointly by Padma Shri Dr. Vidyavindu Singh, senior litterateur Dr. Sudhakar Adeeb, Justice Rajiv Singh, and former Director General of Police Mahendra Chandra Dwivedi. Following the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Saraswati Vandana, the dignitaries shared their thoughts on the book.

Padma Shri Dr. Vidyavindu Singh praised Hemlata Sharma for presenting literary criticism in a simple yet engaging style, while Justice Rajiv Singh described her as a sensitive teacher and profound critic, highlighting the book’s exploration of social and cultural layers. Dr. Sudhakar Adeeb noted that her writings enrich the tradition of literary criticism with intellectual depth, and Mahendra Chandra Dwivedi appreciated the reflection of Indian traditions and values in her work.

Dr. Amita Dubey, who conducted the program, thanked publisher Navin Shukla and acknowledged Sharma’s story collections Sukhmani and Punarvas, which are included in the compilation. The book features works by Usha Chaudhary, Manju Shukla, Meera Dixit, Manka Pandey, Alka Pramod, Sharda Lal, Shashi Jain, Nirupama Mehrotra, Ila Sharma, and Arunendra Chandra Tripathi.

The event also included welcome remarks by Navin Shukla of Naman Prakashan and a vote of thanks from Vipin Sharma on behalf of the Sharma family. The launch was attended by numerous scholars, teachers, researchers, and literature enthusiasts from across the city, celebrating Hemlata Sharma’s contribution to contemporary Hindi literature.
