DM Vishakh G Inspects Flood Preparedness Measures in Bakshi Ka Talab Area

Lucknow – In view of the rising water levels and potential flood risk, District Magistrate (DM) Vishakh G conducted an inspection tour of flood-prone villages in the Bakshi Ka Talab tehsil, including Lasa, Angadiya Kala, Sultanpur, Bahadurpur, and Shivpuri. The DM reviewed on-ground arrangements being carried out by various departments.

At Lasa village, the DM inspected waterlogged areas and interacted with residents. Villagers and the Gram Secretary informed him that no residential areas were currently waterlogged. The Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department briefed the DM, stating that while no major discharge was expected, water levels could still rise by evening.

In light of this, the DM directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Tehsildar of Bakshi Ka Talab to ensure immediate arrangements for boats, boatmen, and divers for movement in affected areas. He also instructed them to arrange lighting equipment such as petromax lamps for night operations, and to make motorboats available for medical emergencies and rescue work.

During the visit, the DM interacted with the local fair price shop dealer to review the distribution of essential food grains, instructing that no shortages be allowed in affected areas. The District Supply Officer was ordered to ensure full responsibility in ration distribution. The Chief Veterinary Officer was instructed to set up camps for providing fodder to cattle, while the MOIC (Medical Officer In-Charge) was told to arrange for medical camps equipped with essential medicines, especially anti-snake venom. He also directed the deployment of revenue staff, Gram Panchayat Secretaries, and doctors on round-the-clock duty in shifts.

The DM then inspected water levels in Angadiya Kala, Sultanpur, Bahadurpur, and Shivpuri, directing the Tehsildar to establish control rooms in affected villages the same day. He ordered that a Law Officer be appointed in charge, supported by Lekhpals and officials from departments including Health, Veterinary, and Supply.

The inspection was attended by the Chief Veterinary Officer, Additional District Magistrate (Finance & Revenue), SDM Bakshi Ka Talab, Tehsildar Bakshi Ka Talab, BDO Bakshi Ka Talab, the Executive Engineer of Irrigation, and other departmental officials.
