Chief Secretary Chairs Review Meeting of UP State Health Agency (SACHIS)

Focus on Expanding Reach of Government Health Schemes and Strengthening IT Infrastructure

Lucknow |  A high-level review meeting of the State Agency for Comprehensive Health and Integrated Services (SACHIS) was held today under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh, at the SACHIS headquarters in Lucknow.

The meeting was attended by Parth Sarathi Sen Sharma, Principal Secretary, Medical Health and Family Welfare,  Archana Verma, CEO of SACHIS, Dr. Pooja Yadav, Additional CEO of SACHIS, along with other senior officials of the agency.

During the review, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need to implement the concept of “Zero Poverty” effectively by ensuring that a maximum number of eligible and needy citizens benefit from both central and state government health schemes. He stressed proactive outreach and enrollment efforts to bring underprivileged individuals under the umbrella of government-supported healthcare.

Detailed discussions and reviews were conducted on the implementation of several major schemes including the Government of India’s Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY), the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay State Government Employees Cashless Medical Scheme initiated by the Uttar Pradesh Government, and the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP).

Particular emphasis was placed on the Ayushman Vay Vandana Yojana, with instructions to ensure that the maximum number of senior citizens aged 70 and above are enrolled in the scheme. The Chief Secretary also directed that Ayushman Bharat health cards should be delivered to beneficiaries through door-to-door campaigns, leveraging the support of Panchayat Assistants, so that no eligible citizen is left out.

Mr. Singh issued clear instructions to ensure that all healthcare and welfare schemes under SACHIS reach every eligible individual in the state. He also called for streamlining and simplifying service delivery for beneficiaries.

Recognizing the importance of technology in ensuring efficient implementation, the Chief Secretary directed the agency to prioritize the establishment of a robust IT infrastructure. This would facilitate smoother and faster execution of government health schemes and significantly improve performance metrics across the board.

He also underscored the need to onboard more hospitals under the “Green Channel” mechanism within the Ayushman Bharat scheme. This would accelerate claim settlements and reduce delays in fund disbursals. Additionally, hospitals enlisted under the scheme should receive timely and compliant payments, ensuring that they can continue to provide free and quality healthcare to beneficiaries without interruption.

The review meeting concluded with a collective commitment from officials to improve service outreach, enhance system efficiency, and make quality healthcare accessible to all eligible citizens in Uttar Pradesh through a well-integrated, tech-enabled approach.
