Lucknow: Highlighting the critical role of youth in combating climate change, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, said that young minds bring unmatched energy, perspective, and innovation to address rising temperatures and shifting climate patterns. He was speaking at the ‘Future-5.0 Climate Action Workshop’ held at the CII Knowledge Conference Hall in Vibhuti Khand on Tuesday.
The workshop was organized by Young Indians (Yi) and its student wing, Yi Yuva. Dr. Saxena emphasized that platforms like Future-5.0 empower youth to take leadership, engage in dialogue, and present actionable solutions.
DFO Shitanshu Pandey praised student proposals such as Miyawaki forests and community pond rejuvenation, calling them both practical and impactful.

Anuj Agrawal, National Climate Change Chair of CII-Yi and Director of CP Milk & Food Products, also addressed the gathering. Over 100 students from leading institutions participated, presenting solutions on urban heat, water conservation, and e-waste management — showcasing youth-led environmental leadership.
