Husaini Blood Donor Club Organizes Blood Donation Camp in Honour of Imam Husain (a.s.)

Lucknow: Inspired by the supreme sacrifice of Imam Husain (a.s.) and the 72 martyrs of Karbala, the Husaini Blood Donor Club (HBDC), a unit of the Husaini Welfare Society, has been organizing regular blood donation camps since 2009—particularly during Moharram—as a tribute to the spirit of humanity, sacrifice, and compassion.

This year, a significant blood donation camp was held on the 9th of Moharram (5th July 2025) at Imambara Gufran Ma’ab, Chowk, Lucknow, in collaboration with King George’s Medical University (KGMU). In this noble initiative, over 150 units of blood were donated in remembrance of Imam Husain (a.s.) and the martyrs of Karbala.

With more than 2,000 registered donors and a growing base, HBDC continues to serve people irrespective of caste, creed, or religion, delivering life-saving blood to all in need.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Kamil Rizvi, Patron, and Rehan Raza Rizvi, President, emphasized the Club’s ongoing commitment to spreading awareness about blood donation and saving lives across communities.

Husaini Blood Donor Club remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the values of humanity and service through the selfless act of blood donation.
