Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Participates in 25th Central Zonal Council Meeting in Varanasi

Varanasi — Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is currently on a visit to Uttar Pradesh to attend the 25th Central Zonal Council Meeting, chaired by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. The meeting, being held in the sacred city of Varanasi, brings together key representatives from the central government and member states to discuss inter-state coordination, development, and governance challenges.

Before the meeting, CM Dhami met with UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and briefed Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Uttarakhand’s preparations for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra in Haridwar. Emphasizing the importance of inter-state collaboration, CM Dhami stated:

As a border state, our priorities include security, disaster management, tourism infrastructure, and a safe experience for pilgrims and tourists. I will be presenting these issues during the council discussions.”

CM Dhami also offered prayers at Kashi Vishwanath Temple and Kal Bhairav Temple, sharing photos and devotional hymns on his official social media handles. He expressed prayers for the peace and prosperity of Uttarakhand residents, invoking blessings from Baba Vishwanath and Lord Kal Bhairav.

During his Varanasi visit, CM Dhami met with his counterparts — Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav and Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai — and engaged in meaningful discussions on current regional issues. He presented them with sacred offerings from the Char Dham shrines of Uttarakhand, symbolizing spiritual ties across states.

Earlier, Dhami also met UP BJP President Bhupendra Chaudhary and senior party leaders. The ongoing 25th Central Zonal Council Meeting follows last year’s 24th edition, which was hosted in Narendra Nagar, Uttarakhand.

The Varanasi session aims to foster enhanced cooperation on subjects including transport, health, law and order, disaster preparedness, and the welfare of hill and border regions.
