Gorakhpur: In a proactive move to assess the progress of key infrastructure projects, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally conducted a late-night inspection on Saturday, beginning at 9 PM. He reviewed the construction work of the Heritage Corridor and the two/four-lane road stretch from Jagesar Pasi Chauraha to HN Singh Chauraha, emphasizing the need for timely completion, quality execution, and proper compensation to all affected parties.
The 4.23 km road project, costing ₹245.44 crore, includes a 2.14 km two-lane and the remaining four-lane stretch. At Jagesar Pasi Chauraha, the CM closely examined the layout and construction details, directing officials to ensure no resident or shopkeeper is deprived of due compensation.
He also stressed on preventing waterlogging during and after the construction, particularly near the Harhawa railway crossing, where he suggested dual drainage channels and coordination with the Railways. At the Harhawa police outpost, he reviewed the upcoming railway overbridge and asked for its completion within 18 months.
At various stops including Omanagar and Basharatpur, CM Yogi instructed proper water drainage arrangements and ordered that open drains be covered to double up as footpaths. At Metro Hospital near HN Singh Chauraha, he reviewed waterlogging issues and proposed culvert construction for long-term resolution.
During his visit to the Pandeyhata stretch via Golghar and Alhadadpur, the CM instructed authorities to provide compensation to all affected by the Heritage Corridor. At Ghantaghar, he examined plans for beautification and multi-level parking and insisted that displaced shopkeepers be accommodated either behind existing structures or within the new complex.
He concluded the inspection at Aryanagar and Hajipur, directing public toilet construction, drinking water facilities, and pole shifting for road widening. CM Yogi received a warm welcome from locals who showered him with flowers and chanted “Jai Shri Ram” and “Maharaj Ji Zindabad.”
Prominent leaders and officials including Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, MLC Dr. Dharmendra Singh, MLAs Vipin Singh, Rishi Mohan Verma, and several former municipal representatives accompanied the Chief Minister.
CM Yogi assured the public that their longstanding issues would be addressed, reaffirming his commitment to Gorakhpur’s development with a smile and a wave to the gathered citizens.
