MJPRU Secures Spot in Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025

Bareilly: In a moment of pride for Uttar Pradesh’s academic landscape, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has earned a coveted place in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2025, securing a spot in the 1001–1500 band. This global recognition evaluates universities on their contribution to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Speaking exclusively to Lucknow Tribune Bureau Chief Akhilesh Chandra Saxena, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Krishna Pal Singh attributed this achievement to the “visionary guidance of the Hon’ble Governor, the support from Raj Bhavan officials, and the dedicated efforts of the university community.”

The THE Impact Rankings assess over 2,500 institutions across 130 countries, covering all 17 SDGs, including clean water, climate action, responsible consumption, equality, and quality education. MJPRU’s inclusion highlights its significant initiatives in:

  • Sustainability-oriented research

  • Campus resource and conservation management

  • Community outreach with regional impact

  • Progressive teaching aligned with SDG support

MJPRU is among the 2,526 universities evaluated in 2025, placing it in the top 61–85% globally—a testament to its rising international relevance and academic credibility. The rankings are based on a comprehensive analysis of research output, campus sustainability measures, community programs, and academic excellence.

“This recognition affirms our unwavering commitment to sustainable growth, inclusive education, and societal engagement,” said Prof. Singh. “It marks a step forward in MJPRU’s global journey and mission for community upliftment.”
