Lucknow – Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Japan’s Daikin Industries Ltd. and a leading name in India’s air-conditioning market, inaugurated its new office and Daikin Solution Plaza today at Iridium Shalimar, near the IOCL building in Aliganj, Lucknow. The move signifies the company’s growing commitment to the Uttar Pradesh market and aims at delivering excellence in service, sales, and technical support.
With its expanding presence across Uttar Pradesh, Daikin is positioning the state as a key growth hub. The newly inaugurated office will house all core operations including product sales, after-sales services, and technical support to better serve its channel partners and customers.
Commitment to Market Leadership
Speaking at the inauguration, Kanwaljeet Jawa, Chairman and Managing Director, Daikin India, said, “India’s rapid economic and commercial growth is encouraging us to deepen our roots in states like Uttar Pradesh. This new office represents our ambition to further strengthen our market share and deliver unmatched customer experiences through our trained sales and service network.” He emphasized that Daikin’s three manufacturing facilities, combined with a strong push towards sustainable, environment-friendly air-conditioning solutions, are key pillars in their growth journey.
Jawa added that this investment goes beyond expanding capacity—it underlines Daikin’s long-term commitment to be a key player in India’s industrial growth and to benefit all stakeholders. He also praised the Indian government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, which has been instrumental in encouraging domestic manufacturing in the room AC industry. The scheme is expected to help increase local production by 75% in the next 3–4 years.
New R&D Centre Strengthens Innovation
Reinforcing its R&D capabilities, Daikin India recently launched its third R&D center in Neemrana, Rajasthan, spanning 24,000 square meters (approx. 6 acres). The center was inaugurated in the presence of Mr. Nofumi Takenaka (President & COO, Daikin Industries), Shoji Uhara (Head of Global Operations & Training), Kanwaljeet Jawa, and Shogo Ando (Deputy MD, Daikin India).

This state-of-the-art facility will employ over 500 engineers focused on developing region-specific, energy-efficient products aligned with local and international standards. Featuring 22 advanced testing labs, including one of India’s largest air-cooled chiller test labs with a capacity of 600 TR (Tons of Refrigeration), the center underscores Daikin’s ambition to strengthen its manufacturing backbone and cater to growing export demand. Built with an investment of ₹500 crore, this facility complements Daikin’s other R&D hubs—Mechanical R&D in Neemrana and the AI-IoT lab in Hyderabad.
Aggressive Expansion Plans in Uttar Pradesh
Kuldeepak Veeramani, Senior Vice President & Executive Director, Daikin India, also addressed the gathering, stating, “With India witnessing steady economic growth, we are ready to scale our expansion efforts in Uttar Pradesh. We are adopting an aggressive strategy to boost our market presence through new product launches and an expanded dealer network.”
He added that Daikin remains committed to offering exceptional customer service through its trained sales and maintenance teams, supported by dedicated dealers and employees. With over 50% growth in North India last year, Daikin expects the market to touch ₹15,000 crore by 2025.
In response, the company plans significant marketing and promotional investment to achieve a 25% market share in Uttar Pradesh within the next 12 months. Rising infrastructure and housing development in the state is also fueling demand for smart, energy-efficient air-conditioning solutions.
