A special film on Dr. Ambedkar was screened on the occasion, followed by a thought-provoking discussion on ‘Ambedkar ke Sapno Ka Bharat’ (Ambedkar’s Dream of India). Prominent media personalities, including Hemant Tiwari, president of the Uttar Pradesh State Recognized Reporters Committee, and veteran journalist Rajendra Kumar Gautam, were felicitated with commemorative souvenirs for their contributions to media and society.
Political analyst Naved Shikoh conducted the proceedings of the event. In his presidential address, Hemant Tiwari emphasized that Baba Saheb gave India the finest constitution in the world. “Unfortunately, in today’s times, political interests often overshadow the essence of his work,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the academy’s 26 years of cultural and cinematic contributions, Dr. Sunil Batta highlighted Dr. Ambedkar’s vision of a society rooted in social harmony. “His dream was of an India where every citizen enjoys equal rights without discrimination of caste or religion. This year, we aim to honor that vision through events such as essay competitions, painting exhibitions, mobile filmmaking, and photography contests,” he said.
Senior art critic Rajveer Ratan praised Dr. Ambedkar’s unmatched intellect and command over multiple languages, calling him “a man of extraordinary talent.” He underlined Ambedkar’s pivotal role in spreading awareness about human rights in India.
Rajendra Kumar Gautam, while expressing gratitude for the recognition, spoke about Dr. Ambedkar’s deep involvement in journalism. He cited Ambedkar’s influential publications such as Mook Nayak, Bahishkrit Bharat, and Janata, calling them powerful voices of the marginalized and describing him as a “silent hero of India.”
The event was graced by several notable individuals, including SP Singh, Sunil Diwakar, Abhay Raj, Nirbhay, Dnyanaprakash Tripathi, Ritesh Chaudhary, and Anwar Baig.
With a renewed commitment to Ambedkar’s philosophy of equality, justice, and knowledge, the Film & TV Academy of Uttar Pradesh aims to make this anniversary year a vibrant cultural tribute to one of India’s greatest social reformers.
