Jewelry Shop Theft in Lucknow’s Itaunja Area

Lucknow :  Despite police patrol and security checks in Lucknow, a major theft took place in the early hours of Wednesday in the Itaunja police station area. Thieves broke into the “Maa Durga Jewelers” shop, located right in front of the police station, and stole jewelry worth lakhs of rupees. To avoid identification, the culprits also damaged the shop’s CCTV cameras.

Shop Owner’s Statement:

Satyam Sharma, the owner of the jewelry shop, stated that he rushed to the spot upon receiving news of the theft. On arrival, he found the shutter broken and the CCTV cameras destroyed. The manner in which the crime was executed suggests that the thieves took meticulous precautions to avoid getting caught.

Stolen Items:

Although no major gold stock was present in the shop at the time, the thieves managed to escape with:

  • 3 kg of silver jewelry
  • 30 grams of gold ornaments
  • A gold ring stored in a box
  • ₹8,000 in cash

Police Investigation:

Upon receiving information, the Itaunja police and forensic team arrived at the scene to collect evidence. Inspector Itaunja stated that an in-depth investigation is underway, utilizing CCTV footage, informants, and surveillance teams to track down the culprits. A case has been registered based on the shop owner’s complaint, and police have assured that the accused will be arrested soon.
