Three Arrested for Murder and Robbery of Jeweler in Lucknow

Lucknow : In a joint operation, the Dubagga Police Station and the Western Zone Crime Team in Lucknow successfully arrested three accused involved in the murder of jeweler Rupnarayan Soni and the robbery at his shop, Pawan Jewelers. Following their arrest, the police recovered 143 grams of stolen gold and 5 kilograms 208 grams of silver jewelry. Additionally, the ambulance used in the crime and the murder weapon (a brick) were also seized.

Accused Confess to Crime:

During interrogation, the accused admitted to the murder, revealing that their primary motive was revenge against Rupnarayan Soni. Investigations uncovered that Soni had borrowed money on interest from the cousin sister of two of the accused, Golu and Vinay. When he failed to repay the loan, he allegedly pressured the woman into physical relations. Frustrated by this, the accused conspired to kill him.

Arrested Accused:

  1. Golu, son of Mahavir (20 years), resident of Nawada village, Atrauli Police Station, Hardoi district.
  2. Vinay Kumar alias Chhotu, son of Mahavir (19 years), resident of Nawada village, Atrauli Police Station, Hardoi district.
  3. Hansraj, son of Balram (20 years), resident of Masiha village, Mal Police Station, Lucknow district.

Additional Actions:

The police have also taken two female juvenile offenders into protective custody. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Western Zone) has announced a cash reward of ₹25,000 for the joint police team’s success. Meanwhile, legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused under multiple sections of the law, and further investigation is underway.
