Hazratganj to Get a Heritage Look with Facade Control Guidelines

Lucknow: Hazratganj, the heart of Lucknow, is set to transform with a fresh heritage-inspired makeover. The buildings in the area will reflect Awadhi culture with uniform facade designs and signage boards. During a meeting held at Parijat Auditorium, Dr. Roshan Jacob, Commissioner and LDA Chairperson, discussed the proposed facade control guidelines with Hazratganj traders.

A presentation highlighted changes, including uniform color palettes and signage designs. Minor modifications to existing building colors will enhance Hazratganj’s aesthetic appeal, making it a tourist attraction. LDA Vice Chairperson Prathamesh Kumar urged traders to follow the guidelines and streamline signage boards while removing unorganized hoardings, which traders agreed to implement.

Beautification efforts will include repainting railings, benches, and bollards, along with installing attractive dustbins. Traders raised concerns about drainage, underground cables, and cleanliness, which will be addressed by respective authorities. Additionally, LDA is expediting housing projects, including Gram-Kaliyakheda and IT City, ensuring swift development and farmer compensations.
