All India Minorities Forum appeals to the Government of India and the United Nations for immediate intervention
Lucknow: A meeting of the All India Minorities Forum for Democracy was convened at the Forum’s Park Road office in Lucknow under the chairmanship of the Forum’s National President, senior BJP leader Dr. Ammar Rizvi, former Acting Chief Minister, Uttar Pradesh. The Forum’s members from Lucknow and the surrounding districts attended the meeting and reflected upon the current situation in Bangladesh.
In his address, the Forum’s National President Dr. Rizvi said that the situation in Bangladesh has become extremely frightening and worrisome due to the atmosphere created by the political unrest in the past. Every day the lives and property of the minority Hindu-Christians are being harmed. Their religious places are being damaged, which has created fear in their hearts. This is a clear proof of the failure of the current interim government of Bangladesh.
Dr. Rizvi said that it seems that the Bangladesh government has completely lost control over the miscreants and fundamentalists. On anti-India activities, Dr. Rizvi said that when the people of the then East Pakistan were being persecuted by ignoring the victory of Awami League in the elections, India gave recognition and respect to the people of Bangladesh in the world and today the interim government there is silent on anti-India efforts.
Dr. Rizvi has demanded immediate intervention of the Indian government on this serious matter and he said that he will write a letter to the United Nations Secretary General on behalf of the All India Minorities Forum and request for the protection of life and property of the minorities of Bangladesh, especially the Hindu brothers.
All the members expressed their consent on the speech of Dr. Rizvi and authorized him to make all possible efforts on this burning issue.
