Lucknow: Transport Corporation is soon going to give the gift of 220 electric buses to the people of the state. The process of purchasing 100 electric buses has been done. These buses will operate from Prayagraj, Ghaziabad and Agra region. These buses will operate from Lucknow to Ayodhya, Kanpur, Naimisharanya, Barabanki etc. districts. Tender process has been started to purchase 120 more electric buses.
These buses will cover a distance of about 160 km once fully charged. These include 20 double decker buses of 9 meters long, 2×2 set, 60 seater, 30 buses of 12 meters long, 2×2, 40 seater, 30 buses of 9 meters long, 2×3, 38 seater and 40 buses of 12 meters long, 2×3, 51 seater electric buses.
This information was given by Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh. He informed that the said buses will be purchased on a fully built basis. All electric buses will be fully air-conditioned buses. The said buses will be comfortable as well as pollution free. Electric buses do not produce any kind of harmful gas or smoke. It does not have any kind of negative impact on the health of people.
The Transport Minister informed that all the electric buses to be purchased will have vehicle location and tracking device as well as panic button, so that people will get information about the actual position of the buses as well as security. The said buses will also be equipped with reverse cameras, Wi-Fi and CCTV cameras.
Apart from this, it will also be equipped with a public announcement device, which will be installed near the driver. He said that the Transport Corporation will complete the process of purchasing the said buses before Maha Kumbh-2025, so that the said buses can be operated in Kumbh as well.
