Lucknow: Padmavibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj Ji Kathak Institute, run under the Department of Culture, Uttar Pradesh, provides Kathak training to children and youth in Lucknow and the state.
To further expand Kathak dance, Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan, Lucknow is organizing Kathak workshops in different schools in the state.
Under this series, Misha Ratan, who has gained national recognition as part of the noted Ratan Sister duo from Lucknow, imparted Kathak training to 150 children at The Marshmallow Tree in Kanpur.
Twenty children presented after the training. The children received primary education in Kathak of Tihai, Kavita, Tukde etc. from Meesha Ratan.
The children were very happy after receiving the certificate at the end of the workshop. They wish that they could continue to learn more like this. Kathak workshop organized under the aegis of Birju Maharaj Kathak Sansthan, Lucknow is being conducted in different districts of the state.
