Why RCB lost the plot in the eliminator ?

Ahmedabad: In the eliminator match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024), Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 4 wickets. In this way, once again Virat Kohli’s team’s dream of becoming champion was shattered. In this high voltage match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, RCB lost the toss and batted first and scored 172 runs.

In reply, Rajasthan achieved the target by losing six wickets in 19 overs. Now on May 24, Rajasthan will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Qualifier-2. The final is to be played on 26 May. In this way, the journey of Bengaluru, which had won six consecutive matches, also ended. Also, once again his dream of becoming a champion was shattered. In the 17 seasons of IPL so far, Bengaluru team has not been able to win the title even once.

On the other hand, with the victory, Rajasthan team reached Qualifier-2. Now on May 24, Rajasthan will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in a knockout match. The team that wins that match will play Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the final on May 26. Let us tell you that due to these five mistakes, Bengaluru had to face defeat against Rajasthan.

RCB lost due to these reasons

1- Poor batting– Royal Challengers Bangalore looked very weak in batting. The team could score only 172 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs. Low score was the biggest reason for the team’s defeat. If the score had crossed 200, perhaps the team could have won.

2- Second reason: No big partnership was seen between RCB who came to bat first. Due to which she could score less. The team’s biggest partnership was only 41 runs (31 balls), which was between Rajat Patidar and Cameron Green.

3- Poor fielding- RCB, trying to defend a low score, fielded very poorly in the beginning of the innings. Glenn Maxwell dropped a very easy catch, which made it easy for Rajasthan to regain the momentum. Although the team fielded well as the innings progressed, it was too late.

4- Spinners lacked edge – RCB captain Faf du Plessis used 2 spinners in the form of Swapnil Singh and Karn Sharma. Both the spinners could not do anything special. Both the spinners bowled 2-2 overs, in which 19-19 runs were spent. Whereas Karan Sharma got only one success.

5- Dew Factor- Batting first was disadvantageous for RCB. The pitch was very slow in the first innings, while dew appeared in the second innings, making it difficult for the bowlers to grip the ball and making batting easier for the Rajasthan batsmen.
