Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested two individuals involved in an organized cyber fraud gang operating in collaboration with Chinese nationals. The gang was running a sophisticated cyber scam through digital arrest schemes and gaming-trading applications.
The arrested accused, identified as Rohan Agarwal and Harshvardhan, were apprehended from Gautam Buddh Nagar. According to STF officials, the gang used digital platforms to dupe unsuspecting victims through fraudulent gaming and trading applications, causing significant financial losses.
During the operation, the STF recovered several documents related to cybercrime, ₹4 lakh in cash, and other incriminating materials. Authorities are further investigating the extent of the scam and the gang’s links with Chinese entities.
Cyber fraud cases have been on the rise, with many scams being operated through international networks. Law enforcement agencies are actively cracking down on such fraudulent activities to protect citizens from online financial scams.
