Greater Noida: The 4th day of the 2nd Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2024 witnessed a record-breaking footfall, surpassing the numbers from its inaugural edition. The event saw an overwhelming presence of both B2B and B2C buyers visiting the India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Day 4 was particularly significant for business transactions, with orders worth over ₹100 crore placed by companies from the US, France, and Japan. Notable deals include Birla Aircon and Sony securing orders worth ₹50 crore, Motherson (Nirvana) bagging ₹25 crore, Vadilal Ice Cream receiving ₹10 crore, and Jain Shikanji securing ₹10 crore, among others.
The trade show received a tremendous boost with the visit of Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, who attended the event as Chief Guest, alongside Rakesh Sachan, Cabinet Minister for MSME, Khadi & Village Industries, Sericulture, Handloom & Textile; Ambassador of Vietnam to India, H.E. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, MSME and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman, IEML among other distinguished dignitaries.
In his keynote address, Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry commended the efforts of the Uttar Pradesh government in fostering a business-friendly environment, saying, “Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Government of India has consistently prioritized ease of doing business, and I am proud to say that Uttar Pradesh is leading the way in adopting these reforms. The simplification of procedures and the creation of a robust digital ecosystem have made doing business in Uttar Pradesh easier and more efficient. The results are evident in the state’s increased investments, exports, and industrial output. We have 39th rank in innovation in the world.”
The Hon’ble Union Minister of Commerce & Industry conferred best stall display awards to 6 companies of Hall 1 & 3, and also interacted with industries and their stakeholders and encouraged them to participate in such events. He also assured all the possible help to boost their businesses from the Center.
Rakesh Sachan, Cabinet Minister for MSME, Uttar Pradesh, praised the dedication and enthusiasm of entrepreneurs, artisans, and business representatives participating in UPITS 2024. He highlighted Uttar Pradesh’s limitless potential for innovation and entrepreneurship. Looking ahead to UPITS 2025, Sachan announced that the next edition, scheduled for 25-29 September 2025, will feature even more industries, innovations, and business opportunities. He also sought the continued support of Piyush Goyal to elevate the trade show to even greater heights, further positioning Uttar Pradesh as a global trade hub.
Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary, MSME welcomed the gathering and informed that the 2nd edition of UPITS has been receiving overwhelming response from national and international buyers and visitors. Overall 450 international buyers visited the show and had numerous B2B meetings. He also mentioned that Uttar Pradesh has more than 95 lakhs MSME units registered which is the highest in the country.
Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chairman of India Exposition Mart Ltd extended the vote of thanks to ministers, senior officials, participants and everyone who joined the show for their participation, cooperation and meticulous efforts to make the show a huge success.
Former Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Durga Shankar Mishra also visited the show and was delighted to see that this time way more exhibitors, visitors and buyers turned up and the arrangements and management were significantly beefed up. He said that this platform is a testament to the vision of ‘UP Making for World’. It has brought global recognition to the State.
International buyers expressed their delight with UPITS 2024. Khalid Khalil, a buyer from Egypt, praised the event for its remarkable diversity, saying, “The exhibition is very impressive and well-organized. I can find products from different sectors all in one place. The hosting has been exceptional, and I look forward to returning.” Similarly, Jack Altal, a buyer from Israel, shared that he anticipates significant business with Indian traders, especially in the IT and cybersecurity sectors.
Exhibitors also shared their satisfaction with the business opportunities generated at the show. Chavi Narayan Arora from JBM University described his experience as “breathtaking,” praising the government’s efforts to create an ideal ecosystem for industries, organizations, and educational institutions. Soniya Mrig, Chief Manager at PNB, noted, “We are generating leads for home loans, car loans, and MSME proposal loans. There has been substantial footfall, and we are confident that this will help us expand our business.”
The excitement on Day 4 was further amplified by performances from traditional artists, followed by a captivating fusion performance by Madhva Band, blending rock music with hymns of Lord Krishna. The evening concluded with a spectacular laser show, much to the delight of visitors.
