Melbourne: Australian captain Pat Cummins is confident that his team will perform well in the upcoming five-match series against India and will be able to compensate for the continuous defeats against this tough opponent for some time. Along with this, he said that the match in the Border Gavaskar Trophy starting on November 22 will be a close one.
India has won four consecutive series from Australia from 2016-17 to 2022-23. On two of these occasions, it defeated Australia on its soil. Cummins said that Australia will try to take inspiration from its victory over India in the World Test Championship final in London last year.
Cummins told Star Sports, “We were not successful in the last two series played in Australia. It has been a long time since we won the series (against India). Now it is time to improve it. ”
