STF busts fake marksheet racket

Lucknow : The STF team of Uttar Pradesh has recently busted a big gang which used to prepare fake mark sheets and recruit for the posts of Gramin Dak Seva (GDS). 13 members of this gang have been arrested from Meerut, who were involved in this illegal operation.

During interrogation, the accused revealed that they used to charge Rs 4 to 5 lakh from each candidate and prepare fake mark sheets of various universities like Subharti University Meerut, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University, Bihar Education Board Patna. After this, they used to send fake documents to the postal department so that the candidate could be verified.

Money was collected in exchange for mark sheets

After the arrest, the gang members told that they used to give Rs 1 lakh to Post Superintendent Sanjay Kumar Singh through Vikal Yadav for the verification of each candidate. They used to divide the remaining amount among themselves.

This gang was involved in this illegal activity for a long time and had got jobs for many candidates in this way. The STF action came when some candidates had gathered to discuss about the verification. They were also caught. Thus, the STF has prevented a big scam by exposing this illegal network.

Such incidents have come to light in Lucknow earlier also, but this time’s action has proved that the administration is keeping a strict vigil on such illegal activities and is committed to give severe punishment to the culprits.
