Rohilkhand University Working Council meeting concluded

Bareilly:  The meeting of the University Working Council was held  in the committee room located in the Vice Chancellor’s office of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University Bareilly. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor KP Singh. Along with this, two members nominated by Her Excellency the Governor of Uttar Pradesh,  Anandiben Patel, Professor Ramgopal and Professor Rajni Ranjan Singh were present in this meeting.

In the said meeting, the previous working council meeting held in the university dated 15 December 2023 was confirmed and the House was apprised of the action taken in it.

In this meeting of the Working Council, the promotion of 13 non-teaching employees working in the university was recommended, who have been promoted from Junior Assistant to Senior Assistant and Senior Assistant to Principal Assistant.

In the meeting of the Academic Council and the Working Council held earlier, many guidelines and decisions have been made in the interest of students, teachers and the university with the aim of implementing the approved courses for Indian students and foreign students from other institutions outside the university, which were recommended. Under this, the teachers of the university will be able to teach foreign students and a large part of the money received from this will be used for teaching itself and the university will keep a small part of it with itself.

The Working Council was also informed that the university will confer research degrees to 187 researchers in the convocation proposed on 14 October.

The university approved a detailed policy for giving online or offline admission to students from other institutions in the country and abroad outside the university in one or more courses in its university along with the course enrolled by them.

The credit transfer policy for online and offline courses conducted by the university was also approved in this working council meeting, with which now the credits of the university students studying in other institutions in the country and abroad can be transferred to their institutions and also the credits of students and researchers acquiring knowledge in the university from foreign or other institutions of the country can be transferred to their institutions.

As per the guidelines of the Vice Chancellor, the rules prepared by the Director Research Directorate for investigation of plagiarism in research were approved, according to which only 10% plagiarism will be permissible in any research thesis, but if more than 60% plagiarism is found, then the registration of the researcher will be canceled.

As per the provision given in the Research Ordinance 2020, the rules made for submitting research thesis were approved. The rules regarding upgradation of research students from JRF to SRF were approved. The rules for receipt of grant and progress report for the teachers of the university going to participate in international workshops, conferences, seminars etc. were approved, according to which the limit of ₹ 25000 previously provided to the teachers from the Teacher Welfare Coach for going abroad was increased to 50000.

At the end of the meeting, the Governor nominated member of the Executive Council, Professor Rajni Ranjan Singh, presented a proposal to establish the Directorate of Open Learning in the university, on which the entire house gave its consent and it was decided that in the next Executive Council meeting a detailed proposal will be made in this regard and presented before the Executive Council. It is known that the university is equipped with A plus plus ranking in the NAAC ranking, so the university is now free to take steps towards open learning.
