Lucknow: The Shaurya Samman 2025 ceremony, organized by a reputed media network was held at the Taj Mahal Hotel, Lucknow. This annual event, celebrating its tenth consecutive year, honored Uttar Pradesh’s police officials, army personnel, and paramilitary forces for their dedication and sacrifices.
Chief Guest Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, presented the Shaurya Samman awards to 17 martyrs who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. The families of these martyrs, including Police Inspector Anil Kumar Maurya, Constable Narendra Kumar Tiwari, Jawan Ramesh Yadav, and others, received the honors on their behalf.
Retired Major Dhirendra Nath Singh of the Kumaon Regiment, a Veer Chakra recipient for his bravery in the 1965 conflict, was also honored. Additionally, well-known personalities from Uttar Pradesh, such as actors Vineet Kumar Singh, Kushal Tandon, and Aahana Kumra, were acknowledged for their contributions.
Prominent Guests
The event saw the presence of several dignitaries, including BJP MLA Shakti Rani Sharma, Dr. Aishwarya Pandit Sharma, Chairperson of The Sunday Guardian Foundation, and Rajya Sabha MP Kartikeya Sharma. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash, and other state ministers were also in attendance.
Kartikeya Sharma presented the Shaurya Samman to a distinguished group of police officers, including DSP Vimal Kumar Singh and Inspector Jitendra Kumar Singh. Inspector Aruna Rai was recognized for her exemplary service under Mission Shakti.
Chief Minister’s Address
In his speech, CM Yogi Adityanath underscored the importance of honoring martyrs and their families, emphasizing their role in shaping a secure and resilient society. He highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s vision for making India a developed nation by 2047 under the Panch Pran initiative and called for continued respect for the country’s security forces.
“Jawans endure extreme temperatures to guard the nation’s borders. Their sacrifices, along with those of the police and paramilitary forces, ensure our collective security and prosperity,” said the Chief Minister.
He stressed the foundational role of security in a civilized society and the balance between individual freedoms and societal responsibilities, referencing Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s principles.
Developments in Uttar Pradesh
ADG Amitabh Yash highlighted the advancements in law and order, noting the elimination of organized gangs in Uttar Pradesh. Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak praised the government’s developmental strides, including full electricity access across districts and comprehensive security measures for upcoming events like the Prayagraj Mahakumbh.
Dr. Aishwarya Pandit Sharma expressed her gratitude to CM Yogi Adityanath for supporting the Shaurya Samman and praised the state government’s initiatives to combat crime and corruption. The Shaurya Samman 2025 was a fitting tribute to the valiant individuals who protect and serve, inspiring a renewed commitment to national pride and security.
