Lucknow: In a major breakthrough, Saadatganj Police have successfully dismantled a gang of notorious thieves targeting poor individuals. Under the leadership of SHO Brijesh Singh, the police arrested four gang members and recovered a significant cache of stolen items, marking a significant success in crime control.
Arrested Accused:
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Mohammad Sufiyan: The mastermind of the gang, who has 17 prior cases registered against him.
- Raju
- Mohammad Wasim
- Mohammad Adil
Recoveries Made:
Based on the accused’s confessions and subsequent raids, the police recovered:
- 10 stolen battery rickshaws
- A large quantity of dismantled parts
Modus Operandi:
The gang specifically targeted poor individuals, stealing their rickshaws and selling the dismantled parts for profit. Their well-coordinated operations had been a source of distress for many low-income families.
Recognition and Rewards:
Acknowledging the commendable efforts of the Saadatganj Police, DCP West Vishwajeet Srivastava announced a cash reward of ₹10,000 for the team.

During a press briefing, DCP Srivastava revealed details about the gang’s operations and the police’s meticulous work that led to the arrests. “The gang’s arrest is a testament to our commitment to ensuring the safety of vulnerable citizens.
