Lucknow: Third-seeded Uttar Pradesh player Rohin Raj capped a memorable campaign by winning the boys’ singles title at the AITA Championship Series Under-16 Tennis Tournament, completing a title double at the event.
Organised by SDS Tennis Academy at the La Martiniere Lawn Tennis Facility on the La Martiniere College campus, the tournament witnessed an all-Uttar Pradesh singles final on Friday.

Rohin defeated fellow state player Haris Khan 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets to lift the winners’ trophy. He began the final aggressively and maintained pressure on his opponent by producing crucial points at key moments.
The opening set saw a closely contested battle, with both players matching each other for long stretches. Rohin, however, held his nerve at important stages to take the set 6-4.

He carried the momentum into the second set, maintaining his attacking approach and eventually securing a 6-3 victory to seal the championship.
The singles triumph completed a title double for Rohin, who had won the boys’ doubles crown a day earlier alongside Satvik Gupta.
Rohin’s impressive run across both singles and doubles events underlined his consistency and all-round performance at the junior tournament, as he emerged as one of the standout players of the championship.
