Sambhal: The police and the district administration are in full action in the case of violence during the survey of Jama Masjid in Sambhal. After this violence, the police has started taking action rapidly. While on one hand the report of violence has been sent to the government, on the other hand, pictures of the rioters involved in the riot in Nakhasa area have also been released. The police has released pictures of 39 masked rioters and appealed to the public to identify them.
According to the police FIR, the police was attacked in Nakhasa area of Sambhal at around 12:35 pm on Sunday. During this, the rioters tried to snatch the pistol of the police and also looted the 9 mm magazine. According to another FIR, a mob of about 150-200 people at Nakhasa Chowk first broke the CCTV cameras installed there. After this, the mob attacked the police with hockey sticks, sticks and stones. Many policemen were injured in this attack.
In the FIR, the police have named some people, including Gulbadin, Sultan, Hasan, Munna son of Jabbar, Faizan and Samad. Along with these, the police have also accused hundreds of unidentified people of attacking, snatching government pistols and setting the police vehicle on fire. After attacking the policemen, the mob also snatched the magazine of a policeman’s pistol and 10 rounds of 9 mm cartridges loaded in it.
This violence broke out during the survey of Jama Masjid, in which four people died and many policemen were injured. The police have so far identified more than 100 stone pelters in this case and arrested 27 people, including two women. The police have registered a total of 12 FIRs in this case related to the violence. The arrested accused include people aged from 14 years to 72 years, against whom cases have been registered under serious sections.
Apart from this, an FIR also includes the names of Samajwadi Party MP Ziaur Rahman Barq and local MLA’s son Suhail Iqbal. Police have accused them of inciting people. Regarding this FIR related to violence, Sambhal Commissioner said that this case has been registered on the basis of activities on Jumme day on 19th. After investigation and inquiry, a case was registered against the MP and MLA’s son. The Commissioner said that we will prove on the basis of evidence that these people were involved in these incidents.
The police and administration are seriously investigating this incident and are moving towards taking strict action against the culprits.
