Marathwada Rail Coach Factory in Latur Initiates Operations, Including Manpower Hiring, Procurement, and Material Installation

 

 

Kinet Railway Solutions kick started the operations at the Marathwada Rail Coach Factory (MRCF) in Latur, Maharashtra. The facility has begun the crucial processes of manpower hiring, procurement of materials, and installation of state-of-the-art equipment, marking the start of full-scale operations aimed at enhancing India’s railway manufacturing capabilities.

Spanning 351 acres, the MRCF is set to become a key player in the production of Vande Bharat Sleeper Coaches, featuring 11 advanced assembly stations and specialized workshops for car body production, warehousing, assembly, testing, bogie construction, and painting. The factory also includes 8.6 km of internal tracks to facilitate the efficient movement of train components.

The initiation of these operations, including the hiring of skilled personnel and the procurement and installation of critical materials, demonstrates Kinet’s commitment to building a world-class railway manufacturing facility. This state-of-the-art factory incorporates a solar power plant and a wastewater treatment plant, significantly reducing its carbon footprint while contributing to India’s renewable energy goals. Additionally, over 1,000 trees will be planted on-site by the end of next year.

The MRCF’s development will create significant employment opportunities, support local industries, and promote skill development in the region, aligning with the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ – a developed India by the centenary of Independence.
