Lucknow: Students of Lucknow University have brought laurels to the institution by achieving remarkable success in Samsung India’s flagship skill development initiative, the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) program. Their outstanding performances in emerging technologies such as Big Data and Artificial Intelligence have earned them recognition at both national and state levels.
Among the top achievers, Rekha Kumari, a Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) student, emerged as the National Topper in the Big Data category, while Yasharth Prakash Srivastava, a final-year student of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering under the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, secured a place among the State Toppers of Uttar Pradesh.
Selected from more than 20,000 participants trained across the country, Rekha Kumari was recognized for her innovative project, “Healtytics,” an advanced data-driven framework designed to strengthen tuberculosis (TB) monitoring, analysis, and intervention strategies. The project aims to leverage data analytics for more effective disease management and healthcare planning.
Yasharth Prakash Srivastava showcased his expertise through the development of an AI and Big Data-powered Movie Recommendation System, which analyzes users’ viewing habits, interests, and preferences to provide personalized content recommendations. The project demonstrated the practical application of emerging technologies in enhancing user experience and digital engagement.
In recognition of their achievements, both students were felicitated at a special awards ceremony held at Samsung India Headquarters in Gurugram. Each received a cash prize of ₹1 lakh along with a commemorative memento.

As part of the program, the students also had the opportunity to visit Samsung R&D Institute Noida, Samsung R&D Institute Delhi, and Samsung Design Delhi. During these visits, they interacted with technology experts and leading innovators from the industry, gaining valuable insights into Samsung’s design philosophy, user-centric innovation processes, and next-generation product development.
Congratulating the students on their exceptional accomplishments, Lucknow University Vice-Chancellor Prof. J.P. Saini and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology Prof. S.P. Singh praised their dedication and innovative spirit.
