Prayagraj: Healthcare retail chain davaindia, operating under Zota Healthcare Limited, has announced an ambitious expansion plan across Uttar Pradesh aimed at improving access to affordable, high-quality generic medicines. The announcement was made during a summit held in Prayagraj, where pharmaceutical retailers, distributors, and healthcare stakeholders from across the state gathered to discuss the challenges, availability, and growing acceptance of generic medicines.
The event, held at Millennium Inn in Prayagraj, also served as a platform for davaindia to unveil its growth strategy for the region. Company representatives highlighted plans to strengthen the network of generic medicine outlets across Uttar Pradesh and enhance healthcare accessibility for local communities.
As part of its mission to make quality healthcare affordable for every Indian, davaindia has set a target of expanding its presence across major district headquarters in Uttar Pradesh by the end of the 2026 financial year. The company currently operates more than 2,700 outlets nationwide, including over 330 stores in Uttar Pradesh, making it one of the country’s leading generic medicine retail networks.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sujit Paul, Group CEO of Zota Healthcare Limited, reiterated the company’s commitment to affordable healthcare.
“Our mission has always been to make healthcare accessible and affordable for every Indian. The expansion in Prayagraj and across northern India, especially Uttar Pradesh, reflects that commitment. We believe healthcare is a fundamental right, and through our social initiatives, we aim to create a lasting positive impact in society,” he said.
The expansion forms part of davaindia’s broader strategy to strengthen its footprint in northern India while ensuring that affordable healthcare solutions reach larger sections of the population.

The company also showcased several community-focused initiatives that will accompany its expansion. These include the #Change campaign, which promotes menstrual hygiene and women’s health by distributing free sanitary pads to underprivileged women and conducting awareness programmes. Another initiative, #ComeOutAndVote, seeks to encourage greater civic participation by motivating citizens to exercise their voting rights.
In addition, the #CareForAll campaign reflects the company’s inclusive approach to community welfare by extending support to animal care and promoting holistic well-being.
Industry participants at the summit welcomed the company’s efforts, noting that wider availability of generic medicines could significantly reduce healthcare costs for consumers while improving access to essential treatments across urban and rural areas of Uttar Pradesh.
With its expansion plans and social outreach initiatives, davaindia aims to play a larger role in transforming healthcare accessibility and affordability in one of India’s most populous states.
