Gonda: The Lions Club Gonda Awadh felicitated young cricketer Lakshya Raichandani, following his appointment as the newly designated captain of India’s Under-19 cricket team.
On the occasion of National Sports Day, members of the club visited Lakshya at his residence and congratulated him on the achievement. They presented him with an angavastram and a memento in recognition of his accomplishment.

Club president Ramesh Pratap Singh praised Lakshya’s determination, hard work and sustained efforts, describing his journey as an example for aspiring young athletes. He also honoured the cricketer with a Lions Clubs International pin and conferred honorary membership of the club on him.
Club director Dilip Singh said Lakshya had brought pride not only to Gonda and Uttar Pradesh but also to the country through his achievements. He expressed confidence that the young cricketer would continue to make a mark at higher levels of the sport.
Zone Chairperson Omi Sindhi described Lakshya as an inspiration for young people. He said his achievement had given the youth of the region a reason to feel proud and demonstrated the importance of determination and perseverance in pursuing one’s ambitions.

Senior club members Rajesh Jaiswal, Alok Sinha and Ramesh Srivastava also presented a memento to the newly appointed captain and congratulated him on bringing recognition to Gonda.
Lakshya’s father, Rajesh Raichandani, spoke about his son’s dedication to cricket. He said Lakshya had set his sights on achieving excellence from an early age and had consistently worked towards his goal.
He expressed confidence that Lakshya would continue to work harder in the coming years and strive to represent the country at the highest level.
The felicitation programme highlighted the growing recognition of young sporting talent from Gonda and underscored the role of the community in encouraging promising athletes to pursue their ambitions.
