Varanasi: The work of the international cricket stadium being built in Varanasi has gained momentum. Some of its pictures have gone viral on social media. The construction work of the stadium can be seen in this picture. This stadium will be ready by December 2025.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the international cricket stadium being built in Ganjari in Varanasi. On this occasion, the 1983 Cricket World Cup winning team including Sachin Tendulkar was also present. The cricket stadium is being built in 30.66 acres at a cost of Rs 451 crore. The construction of the stadium with a capacity of 30,000 spectators will be completed by December 2025.

Third stadium of Uttar Pradesh

After Kanpur and Lucknow, this will be the third international cricket stadium in UP. Its architecture will show the imprint of Lord Shiva and Kashi. The roof of the stadium will be crescent-shaped, the stands of the flood lights will be in the shape of a trident. The lounge and entrance will be in the form of a damru, while the seating area for the spectators will be like the stairs of the Ganga Ghat.

Cricketers are eagerly waiting

Sachin, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri and other cricketers, BCCI President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajiv Shukla and Secretary Jai Shah were also present at the foundation stone laying ceremony. Cricket fans are hoping that this stadium will be built as soon as possible. The construction of this stadium will increase tourism in Varanasi along with local cricketers.
