After 23 years, Ireland beats England in ODI cricket

London: The England women’s cricket team had already captured the series by defeating Ireland in the first two matches in the three-match ODI series, but in the third ODI, the English team was eyeing a clean sweep of the series.

In the third ODI, the Ireland team dashed the hopes of the England women’s team. Everyone is praising the way the Ireland team made a comeback after losing by 275 runs in the second ODI. The Ireland women’s team won the third match against England by 3 wickets under DLS.

In fact, batting first in the rain-interrupted Ireland vs England third ODI, the England team was bowled out for 153 runs in 20.5 overs.

Ireland got a target of 155 runs in 22 overs under DLS to win. England’s team once again had a wonderful performance from Tammy Beaumont, who scored a brilliant half-century and 52 runs. In the last match, she got the Player of the Match award.

After this, while chasing the target of 155 runs under DLS, no one could do anything special from Ireland except Gabby Lewis’s innings of 72 runs.

Apart from her, no batsman of Ireland could manage to cross the 30-run mark, but Dalzel Iss hit a four on the last ball to register a win. In this way, Ireland’s team defeated England after 23 years in the history of ODI cricket. Earlier in 2001, Ireland had defeated England for the first time in this format.
